We recommend that you allow the language within your legal will to remain simple by using the below options. Once you have made this commitment, we can have a conversation that allows us to prepare an internal gift agreement (non-binding) that outlines details and criteria by which we follow when your estate is cleared, and the funds come to Clark College Foundation.
The agreement between you and Clark College Foundation can be reviewed on a regular basis to update any changes or additions for your legacy gift. These edits don’t incur any legal expenses, while keeping you connected with the college, as you wish.
I, , hereby give, devise and bequeath, dollars ($ ) OR percent ( %) of my total estate to Clark College Foundation, a nonprofit organization located at 1933 Fort Vancouver Way, Vancouver, WA 98663-3598, Federal Tax ID #23-7315006.
Optional Language:
I instruct Clark College Foundation to use these funds as outlined within a separate gift agreement made between me and Clark College Foundation, which will be reviewed and updated, if necessary, on a regular basis.
OR:
I instruct Clark College Foundation to use these funds at the discretion of the board of directors to support Clark College.
OR:
I instruct Clark College Foundation to use these funds to create the Fund (ie. Johnson Fund), an endowed (or non-endowed) fund, of which the income only (or the principal and income) is to be used to support (for example, scholarships for nursing students). If the area or use I designate is no longer in existence or impractical or inconsistent with the mission of Clark College, I instruct Clark College Foundation to apply my gift to the area or use most closely related to my designation.
